HOLA!!!
This week was again extremely hot but it was a good week! The past few weeks we´ve been able to find a couple new people to teach that are amazing and we are really excited to see how they progress.

Samuel! We were knocking doors last week and he opened the door and let us in! He's nineteen and he is super cool, he is very sincere and very interested as well! He also loves basketball!! He isn't very tall but according to him he can dunk pretty easily... The only problem is that lots of times their games are on Sundays so he hasn't been able to come to church these past two weeks...
El Flaco de Oro! I mentioned him a while back, he's the luchador that we've been teaching. However, we lost contact with him and only recently were we able to go back and talk with him. He showed us photos of his fighting days but his masks are packed away so we couldn't see them... However, he promised to take them out for the next visit!
Jazmin! We found her knocking doors on Saturday, she is someone who is having a lot of trials and problems... her husband can be abusive at times. She told us that he worshiped Satan... Like he literally had statues and things to worship him but she threw them all out. She also claims that he can transform into a cat... a little crazy but she seems perfectly nice and normal! But now every time we see a cat Elder Reyes or I say that its a transformer and probably her husband. :)

| Guero, Guera! Close to Malecon they sell this super delicious ice cream thingy. They call it nieve (snow in English). We each bought half a litre. They gave me two spoons thinking that we were going to share .. but NOPE we are both just that lit! haha! |

Regardless, it has been a great week! We've focused a lot in our lessons on the power of the Book of Mormon and the importance of it in the conversion process. We feel like helping the people we are teaching to understand this and to read it will help them to act with faith. We are teaching someone named Juan Carlos and he said a couple lessons ago that he knew this all was true, however he didn't accept the invitation to be baptized, which surprised us! We were talking afterwards about how he could believe this church to be true but not want to join! We realized that it was because he hasn't been reading the Book of Mormon, he had based his testimony on the logic and not so much on faith. So the next lesson we focused entirely on the importance of reading and we hope that he will actually start reading! He is an awesome kid who would be an amazing member.
I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that it is the word of God, and I know it can bring us a lot of comfort and it fortifies our faith!
Hope you all have a great week!!
Elder Gurney
